Metalized PEEK Insulation Blanket Splicing Tape


BMS5-157 Type I Class 2 or 3 Grade A or C Fm 1 Comp. MPEEK  Made in USA

This tape is used primarily in the fabrication of insulation blanket covers. It may be used for sealing sewn seams and for closing fabrication slits or holes.

 Dull Gray Metalized PEEK Film IO x IO visual scrim count with a highly fire-retardant acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive. 

Lead Time:  One (1) week or less for new rolls to arrive to us from the manufacturer after receipt of your purchase order.

Shelf Life:  Eighteen (18) months from DOM

Documentation Provided at No Extra Charge:  Factory C of C referencing BMS5-157 Rev. K, Type I, Class I, Grade A, Form I, Comp MPVF and a Burn Test Certificate referencing FAR 25.853 (A & B) and FAR 25.856 (A)

Nominal Tape Widths vs Actual Widths

Tape rolls are cut to standard tape industry metric widths of approx. 24mm per 1-inch of nominal width ordered. As a result ACTUAL tape widths are normally 5% narrower than the NOMINAL width shown in inches. Examples:

  • 1" Nominal width = 15/16" (24mm) Actual width
  • 2" Nominal width = 1-7/8" (48mm) Actual width
  • 3" Nominal width = 2-13/16" (72mm) Actual width

Note that tape rolls are NOT guaranteed to be splice-free.
