PROTEX 1321D-3

Film With Synthetic Rubber Resin

Although we stock many of the Protex brand tapes their 1321D-3 is not one that we carry in inventory.  Because it is a made-to-order tape there is normally a four (4) week lead time for us to receive it from the manufacturer after receipt of your purchase.

Protex 1321D-3 Clear, Linered, Polyester Film Tape. Complies with Boeing specification BAC 5034, Type IV, Class I, Grade A.   Made in USA

PROTEX 1321D-3 is a 3 mil clear polyester film with a pressure sensitive adhesive, designed for surface protection of alclad, polished aluminum and other types of metal surfaces during various machining operations, such as drilling, routing, milling, and some forming operations. It will prevent aluminum chips from scratching the surface of the metal during various operations. PROTEX 1321D-3 is also used to block out areas not to be treated during various anodize, alodine and chemical milling operations.

Additional Information

Nominal Tape Widths vs Actual Widths

Tape rolls are cut to standard tape industry metric widths of approx. 24mm per 1-inch of nominal width ordered. As a result ACTUAL tape widths are normally 5% narrower than the NOMINAL width shown in inches. Examples:

  • 1" Nominal width = 15/16" (24mm) Actual width
  • 2" Nominal width = 1-7/8" (48mm) Actual width
  • 3" Nominal width = 2-13/16" (72mm) Actual width

Note that tape rolls are NOT guaranteed to be splice-free.
